The Count Down Begins

Bailey Ann is just a few short weeks from that milestone first birthday. I can't believe how fast the time has gone over the past year! I'm still not sure what our plans will be for her first birthday or if we will have a true party for her.

Here are some of her latest accomplishments:
*Walking:  She isn't using this as her primary way to get around, but is taking steps to get from one place to another if they aren't too far apart.
*Climbing on things to get onto the couch
*Giving fives
*Her top 2 teeth came in for a total of 4!
*Playing pat-a-cake
*Giving babies hugs
*This one makes Mommy happy:  Snuggling with animals, toys, blankets, pillows, and of course Mommy!!

Happy 11 months baby girl!   :)

Girl Stuff

I have always said that I wouldn't know what to do if I had a girl. Well, I've figured it out. Having a girl is a great excuse to get crafty! I have made a few things for my little princess including paintings for her room, hair bows and flowers, blankets, and a curtain. Now, I can add a dress to the list.

I found a cute pattern for a pillowcase dress that looked super simple on pinterest. The directions for this dress are super simple to follow. The only down fall, I used her 12 month pattern and the dress came out WAY too big for my skinny little girl. It is the perfect length, but is too wide for her. Hopefully she'll fit into it next spring.

The final product:

Dan Nicholas Park

To kick off Spring Break 2012, I wanted to do something fun with the kids. We've lived in NC for over 3 years and haven't explored much. I've heard about the Dan Nicholas Park from a few different people and decided to drag Grandma along. Of course, the first thing Tyler wanted to check out was the train!
Bailey thought the view from Grandma's lap was pretty great!

The ride was short, but worth the $1 charge. Tyler enjoyed going over the bridges and through the various tunnels.

After the train ride it was time to check out the animals. They have several species that are native to NC. The biggest hit with my boy, the turtles. He's his mommy's child for sure!

After visiting the petting zoo and it's cranky resident donkey, we headed for the carousel. Tyler opted for the safety of the stationary seat with Bailey and I.

And Grandma chose a horse!
Our final and in my opinion most enjoyable activity, gem mining! Although we didn't find anything worth any value, we did manage to find some really pretty stones.

Bouncing for Beanbags

The kids received some fabulous beanbag chairs for Christmas from Aunt Robin, Uncle Chris, Travis, Rebecca, and Isiah. Until today, they have sat empty in a box. Grandma delivered the beans to fill them today, and filled they became! I predict many fun-filled evenings with these!

As for the random beans floating around my neighborhood, I don't know where they came from! ;-)
